Bears sign DB Sewell, place Garvin on IR

The Bears announced a pair of roster moves on Tuesday morning. They have signed undrafted defensive back Marlen Sewell, who takes the roster spot of defensive lineman Jonathan Garvin, who was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Sewell, who signed with the Chiefs after the draft but was released in June, had 52 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a half-sack and two passes defensed for Vanderbilt last season.
