Kimi Antonelli Tops FP3 After Tough Friday

Published October 3, 2026 · Updated October 3, 2026 · Motorsport.com

Kimi Antonelli topped final practice at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, recovering from a disappointing Friday for championship-leading Mercedes.

Mercedes brought a heavily upgraded W17 to Sepang but struggled on Friday, managing only second and fifth in FP1 and seventh and eighth in FP2 as other teams looked stronger.

The championship-leading outfit responded perfectly on Saturday, with Antonelli topping FP3 to boost Mercedes' confidence ahead of qualifying. catcrossgame.com
