Lions vs. Jets: Week 3 NFL Showdown

Published September 27, 2026 · Updated September 27, 2026 · Fox Sports

The Detroit Lions will host the New York Jets on Sunday in a Week 3 NFL matchup on FOX. Both teams seek their second win after splitting their first two games of the season.

The Lions enter the game with the NFL's 4th-ranked offense (31.0 PPG) but also have the league's worst defense, allowing 457.5 yards per game. Meanwhile, the Jets boast the NFL's top-ranked defense (197.0 yards allowed per game) despite their overtime loss to the Packers in Week 2.

Historically, Detroit has been strong following losses under coach Dan Campbell, posting a 17-6 record since 2022 in regular-season games after a defeat, winning those contests by an average of 14.1 points. The Lions look to bounce back from their 41-31 loss to the Bills, while the Jets aim to build on their defensive performance against a high-powered Lions offense. tbzikra.org
