Lionel Messi scored his fourth free-kick goal in seven games for Inter Miami, bringing him just two goals away from Marcelino Carioca's record for most free-kick goals in top-level football.

Messi's spectacular left-footed free-kick from a near-impossible angle found the net via the far post, equalizing for Inter Miami against Columbus Crew. Despite the magic, Inter Miami fell 1-2 in stoppage time, continuing their poor form with just one win in their last ten MLS matches. ipltable.lol

Carioca's record of 78 free-kick goals in top-level club football and international matches between 1988-2009 remains within Messi's reach.
