Seahawks Coach Confident Ball Will Find Shaheed

Published September 30, 2026 · Updated October 1, 2026 · NBC Sports

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald downplays concerns about Rashid Shaheed's limited offensive production, expressing confidence that the ball will find the receiver.

Through three games, Shaheed has recorded just six catches for 53 yards, far less than teammate Jaxon Smith-Njigba's 27 catches for 405 yards and six touchdowns.

Despite the numbers, Macdonald remains optimistic: 'I know the ball's finding [Smith-Njigba] a lot right now. Sheed's doing a great job... it will [find him]. We've just got to stick to our process.' Shaheed has contributed on special teams with returns for 257 yards total. afrikasportnews.co.za
