Women`s T20 World Cup 2026: Lauren Bell’s new lens of hope!

England fast bowler Lauren Bell has bought a new camera with the hope that she will shoot all the celebrations after the hosts win the Women’s T20 World Cup title.

The global showpiece event starts on Friday with England facing Sri Lanka at Edgbaston. Bell, 25, has said that she’s looking forward to doing well herself and taking her team all the way to the final at Lord’s on July 5.

“How good would that be? A little picture with the World Cup trophy! That is the plan,” Bell told the Press Association after revealing her new camera. amunra-online.pl

“I’m just going to try and take it all in and enjoy it the best I can. It is so exciting and it could very much be something that only happens once in our careers. I feel really fortunate that I get to be in this position and a home World Cup has come at a time in my career where I feel in a really confident place,” added Bell, who plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Women’s Premier League.

T20 Mumbai League: SOBO Mumbai Falcons win on Tandel’s spin

SOBO Mumbai Falcons (SMF) put it across North Mumbai Panthers (NMP) in their last league match by seven wickets to finish with six points at Wankhede on Wednesday.

After bowling out NMP, who have already qualified for Thursday’s semi-finals, for 157, SMF chased the target with 11 balls to spare.

Earlier, the SMF spinners spun a tight web around the opposition batters when left-armer Yash Dicholkar (2-17), offie Mayuresh Tandel (4-30), and teen leg-spinner Vedant Gore (2-33) bowled in tandem in the middle overs.

When opener Anish Choudhery (32) and India Under-19 World Cup winner Abhigyan Kundu (45) scored at a brisk pace to share 78 for the second wicket in just 38 deliveries, NMP were going at over 11 an over in the first seven overs.

But, after Tandel dismissed Anish and Ayush Vartak to catches in the deep within four deliveries of each other soon after his introduction in the eighth over, NMP could not get the boundaries regularly.

In direct contrast to their scoring rate in the first seven overs when they posted 79-1, NMP managed only 78-9 in the next 12.2 overs, scoring at 6.33 runs per over.

In the last league match, powered by Ayaz Khan’s 87, MSC Maratha Royals defeated ARCS Andheri by five wickets to complete the semi-final line up along with NMP, AA, and Aakash Tigers MWS.

IND vs AFG: Afghanistan Add In-Form Mohammad Saleem Safi for Three-match ODI Series

Fast bowler Mohammad Saleem Safi has been added to the ODI squad for the three-match series against India, which begins with the first ODI on June 13 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala.

Saleem has earned his place on the back of a sensational six-wicket haul against India in New Chandigarh in the one-off Test. The right-arm pacer was the pick of the bowlers in a match where the pitch offered very little assistance to the fast bowlers. Although Afghanistan lost the game by an innings and 350 runs, Saleem’s spell was the silver lining.

One of the highlights of his bowling was his ability to generate genuine pace and hurry batters with his bouncers.
His skill set certainly impressed Afghanistan head coach Richard Pybus, who sang his praises after the match.

“He was just fantastic,” Pybus said of Saleem’s performance in the Test match. “If you come here and take six wickets in extreme heat against a high-quality batting line-up, that reflects very well, not just on him as a bowler, but on us as a side.”

Saleem was seen training with the team in Mohali. Rashid Khan, who missed the one-off Test, will link up with the squad in Dharamshala ahead of the ODI series opener.

Another senior pro, Mohammad Nabi, is unwell, which is why he did not train with the team in Mohali.

Afghanistan’s updated ODI squad: Hashmatullah Shahidi (c), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Ibrahim Zadran, Sediqullah Atal, Darwish Rasooli, Rahmat Shah, Ikram Alikhil (wk), Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan, Nangyal Kharotai, AM Ghazanfar, Zia Ur Rahman Sharifi, Fareed Malik, Bilal Sami, Mohammad Saleem Safi.

‘Finisher Fulmali will thrive at Women`s T20 World Cup 2026’: Sandeep Gawande

India batter Bharti Fulmali’s coach Sandeep Gawande believes his ward can play the perfect finisher’s role at the Women’s T20 World Cup, beginning in England on Friday.

Fulmali hammered six fours and a six during her 40-ball 56 not out to help India beat West Indies by 26 runs in a World Cup warm-up match at Cardiff on Monday.

Bharti Fulmali

Fulmali, 31, made her T20I debut against England in 2019, but lost her place after just two games. She returned to the side after a seven-year gap against South Africa last April. Gawande revealed how Fulmali has worked hard on her game before earning a recall. “Bharti performed well in the 2026 Women’s Premier League for Gujarat Giants [119 runs at a strike-rate of 146.91] and that helped her make a comeback to the Indian team. She worked very hard across that one-and-a-half month before the WPL. She used to bat for four-five hours every day, doing match simulations. She was struggling with a few shots down the leg side, so we specifically worked on those areas. Now, she effortlessly plays her shots on both sides of the wicket,” Gawande told mid-day from Amravati on Tuesday.

Gawande feels Fulmali’s greatest strength is her mental toughness. “She is mentally very strong, focused, and never loses hope. She was determined to play for Team India again and concentrated on her daily training with discipline. The way she performed on Monday [vs WI], I’m confident she will get a chance in India’s playing XI [vs Pakistan on Sunday]. India needs a good finisher and Bharti’s best suited for that role,” added Gawande.
